Equipment matters.

The same system design can perform very differently depending on what is installed. Equipment is chosen to suit the property, not the other way round.

What to look for

Beyond the spec sheet.

What we weigh when specifying each part of a system, and what is worth asking about in any proposal.

  1. 01

    Panels

Output per module matters less than how the array fits the roof. Look at dimensions, temperature performance, the product and performance warranties, and how the manufacturer supports claims in New Zealand.

  2. 02

    Inverters

The inverter decides what the system can do later. Number of MPPT trackers for multiple roof planes, battery compatibility, backup capability, monitoring and local support all matter more than headline efficiency.

  3. 03

    Batteries

Compare usable capacity, continuous and peak power, compatibility with the inverter, installation location requirements and warranty terms on throughput as well as years.

  4. 04

    EV charging

Charger rating has to suit the supply and switchboard. Solar aware charging, load management and scheduling decide how much of the car's energy can come from the roof.

  5. 05

    Monitoring

You should be able to see generation, consumption, export and battery state without asking anyone. Good monitoring is how problems are found early.

In our work

Equipment you can see in our installations.

We only list equipment that appears in our own installation records. That keeps this list short, ask us about anything that is not here.

  • GoodWe

    Inverter

Converts the array's DC output into AC the property can use, and coordinates with storage where a battery is fitted.

    • Preferred residential inverter brand in Nord system designs
    • Works with battery storage where the system includes it
  • Deye

    Hybrid inverter

A hybrid inverter manages the array, a battery and the grid connection from one unit.

    • One unit for PV, battery and grid, which simplifies the electrical layout
    • Suited to systems where storage is installed now or planned later

Ask about the right equipment for your property.

Tell us about the property and what you want the system to do. We will come back to you to arrange the next step.
